When will Right Marquee Hire put up/take down my marquee?
For a typical weekend booking marquees are erected on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to the event. They are then dismantled on the following Monday or Tuesday. If these times are not convenient for you then we will do our best to accommodate you.
How long is the marquee hire period?
All marquee hire charges apply for a weekend booking. During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by prior arrangement.
How Safe are marquees?
All our marquees are fully fire resistant, conform to British Standard Specifications and Health and Safety Standards.
Can I make last minute changes to my marquee?
Yes, we will try our best to accommodate any changes you require to your booking.
Do marquees stand up to storms?
Modern marquees are very sturdy. They are manufactured to withstand wind loading of up to 60 mph and normally survive much higher winds than this.
How far in advance should I book my marquee?
If you are concerned about availability please give us a call as soon as possible. Please note marquees tend to be reserved early for the peak summer period.
Will a marquee damage our garden?
Temporarily yes. Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best but will quickly recover.
Are marquees suitable for winter events?
With the improvements in marquee construction and general heater technology, marquees are now ideal venues for Christmas and New Year parties. Powerful heaters provide warmth, and hard flooring protects the marquee from wet winter ground. More and more people are now utilising all the advantages of a marquee venue for their winter event.
What is the difference between lined and unlined marquees?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential element of a traditional wedding-style marquee. With unlined marquees, the PVC walls and marquee structure are fully visible, making them more suitable for functional or casual events.
How many guests can I accommodate?
It depends on the size of the marquee and whether your guests will be seated around tables or standing. We can give you advice on seating plans, however, our approximate guidelines are shown here
Are the marquees waterproof?
Yes.
Do I pay extra for side walls?
No we bring them as matter of course and are included in the price (subject to availability).
Can I attach / detach side walls myself?
If you decide to attach / detach side walls during your event they should take no longer than a few minutes to do each wall panel.
Will I need carpeting / matting?
It does depend on the summer weather, the type of event and the condition of the grass. Most weddings require carpeting but many of the more informal events that we cover work well without the carpet or matting.
Will I need heaters?
This does depend on the weather and how late your event is likely to go on in the evening.
What do we need to provide for us to have lighting?
Ideally, we require a standard power point, we will provide everything else. However, we can provide a power generator if required.
Does the marquee need to be on Grass?
Not always, they can be erected on hard standing by using weights, guy ropes, or raw bolts. Please note in these cases it is advisable to have a site visit which is free of charge..
Will you come and look at the site for the marquee?
Yes. Prior to erection the site will be surveyed to ensure that all unique site requirements and constraints have been identified.
Can I use a marquee to provide an extension to my house?
Yes. We can attach marquees to houses to continue and expand existing spaces.
What about insurance?
The marquee is fully insured throughout the duration of the hire. An excess of £500 is payable for damages caused whilst with the hirer. Full details given with quotation.

Can marquees be erected on uneven ground?
Marquees can be put up on sloping or uneven ground, Prior to erection the site will be surveyed to ensure that all unique site requirements and constraints have been identified.
